Some people like Siteground.com for hosting Joomla sites. I prefer Hostmonster.com or Hostgator.com.

Joomla requires a database, usually MySQL and most importantly PHP. Find a hosting service that is fast, most will support these requirements.
A linux one would be better. Try here:http://www.webfaction.com?affiliate=ciph…

I used to use Joomla until i got my website designed in html. The host that I use, and trust me i have tried way too many, is Phynom Technologies. They are the fastest, most reliable, consistent and to be completely honest they are the most honest and have one of the best support teams out there. Good Luck with your decision my friend. Here is a link: http://www.phynom.com/vss.html

I have my own hosting company http://www.redbyteonline.com that allows you to install Joomla 1.15 or 1.5 via the backend, I also help my customers out with any problems they have with Joomla as I have been using it since it split from Mambo back in the day and also use it for the bulk of my web design clients. If you need further information drop me a line at: http://www.redbyteonline.com/

SiteGround is definitely the best web hosting for Joomla. Check their joomla hosting package, they have tutorials, knowledge base articles, free templates. I mean they are one of the top contributors to the Joomla project in general. Besides the application works fantastic on their servers - you can check my site with them. http://www.siteground.com ftw!

    I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
They have OneClick install of Joomla:
    1. You get a free domain from them (actually 2 if you use the promo code, more about that later)
    2. They have 500 GB of Disk Space and increasing
    3. 5TB (5000 GB) of Bandwidth and increasing
    4. You can use their huge Disk Space and host multiple sites on a single account.
    5. Their price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly)
    6. Which is a pretty standard price but they currently have a promotion:
Use the Promo Code: PLUS (at sign up page) and get a $50 discount + 2 Free Domain Names
    7. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month) including 2 Free Domain Names!
    P.S. If you’re willing to pay $20+/monthly for a webhost I recommend:
    1. http://www.mediatemple.com
    2. http://www.slicehost.com
