I would like to construct a joomla template according to my own layout. Unfortunately I don’t know html. Can you please recommend good software to do a joomla templates with the facility of deciding where I can put modules in the website? Thank you.

I agree with the answer above.
Joomla templates are very hard to work with because they are a combination of PHP, HTML, Java Script and .CSS

Kind of tough to build if you don’t know html. Your best bet is to use Dreamweaver and download the free plugins for dreamweaver that will input the Joomla module code. Truthfully you’d be better off bidding on Elance or a freelance site and paying a couple hundred to have a unique one designed for you or purchase a commercial template and customize it. building joomla templates takes a bit of skill.
