What Would You Use For Online Catalog Purposes: Joomla Or Oscommerce?

August 19, 2009 under FAQ

I think this is an interesting question, the answer depends upon what you want to do. Joomla is a content management system and it is good if you are looking for a template-based CMS which allows you to add e-commerce models such as OS commerce. OS commerce is not a content management system but rather a shopping cart system which allows you to add products and product descriptions.
The downside of Joomla is that you are pretty much stuck with templates that are commercially available. Aesthetically speaking the website will look like a template.
OS commerce being a shopping cart, is really just a shopping cart and therefore I’ve got nothing bad to say about it. It provides a great catalog but it does very little else.
You may want to consider the content management system which we are offering: a 100% original designed custom CMS system which includes a catalog, a shopping cart, add to cart features, forums, blogs, and much more. All at one flat rate.
