As far as I know, Joomla is not an ecommerce package. It’s a CMS. Of course it has ecommerce extensions, as virtuemart.
I do not know these packages, but I have some experience with Magento. The latter is an ecommerce package that has some CMS-functionality.
It is very powerful, but it needs a heavy server, and can be quite difficult to customize. Templating is not as easy as you’d hope.
Also, magento is overkill if all you want is a small shop. Take a look around for the options and make up your mind what you want. Base your choice on that.
