The first thing is to accept that there is a steep learning curve, and you won’t have this complete in a few hours - I will happily give you some recommendations of extensions however, as with these, life can be made SO much easier!
JCE Editor - far improved content editor, allowing for easy image uploading and link creation
Joomap - great for creating sitemaps for your visitors and for Google
SH404SEF - brilliant search-engine-friendly URL component
