New To Joomla And Need Some Help!?

January 30, 2010 under FAQ

I am trying to find a way to:
1.) Once users log in they will be taken to a page that has many questions with drop down selection lists that they need to answer, then save their info.
Does any one know of a way to do this?? Thanks in advance for any help.

They way how you and your users do it is as follows: answer the first question, continue with the second one, and continue until you reach the final one. When all done, you save the form.

I have used joomla and found it handy but in terms of users quite useless… If you want to collect user data may I suggest googling “php code for emailing forms” it’s the simplest thing ever and it works a treat though the emails may go to your spam folder so configuration would be needed…

Not all Joomla template has a user login that will redirect to a page with poll a questions.
There are few Joomla templates with that features that I found several days ago.
search for free template here: http://www.siteground.com
when you found them, install the template and make it default in template manager

You could install the Fabrik component which allows you to build custom forms. After creating it, make a link to it in your main menu, or whatever menu you want. Then in the module manager find the login module and open it. There should be a parameter that allows you to specify a URL redirect after a user logs in. Paste the URL for the form that Joomla generates when you linked it to a menu. The downside is that every time a user logs in, they will see the form even if they’ve already filled it out. You could have a link in the form’s intro text that says “I have already filled out this form” and it takes them somewhere else if they click on it. Not sure what your plan is for your site’s login flow, or whether filling the form is required, but that’s what I can think of. Try searching http://extensions.joomla.org to see if there’s something that can give you exactly what you’re looking for.
