I’m not entirely sure what you mean by adding an e-mail address to a template.
A Joomla template is basically just HTML with some special tags that indicate where to place CMS content. So, you can simply use an anchor tag to hyperlink an e-mail address:
me@here.com You can also use mailto links in the rich text editor.
