Joomla Question?

I have installed the Joomla on my hosting server, the website I am working at is offline for the moment, but when testing the frontend I wait almost 1 minute to load a page, and I don;t have info on the pages yet that could complicate the view. I have increased the cache but no change. What is the problem here, what should I do to get it load faster?
Note: my server’s PHP and MySQL are compatible with the Joomla requirements.

Im guessing that its your host. For the most part Joomla pages should load just as fast if not faster then any other peice of web content that you have up on the site. Ping you host and see what you get back .
I have a joomla site with a good bit of content and no problems.
Are you sure its not your host? Have you tried a simple html index to see if it loads faster? If it is a joomla problem you should post on the forums at joomla.org.
