I assume if you were looking at joomla that you are looking for something open source and PHP/MYSQL based. Have you looked at PHP Nuke? On the Microsoft side, there is the similary .NET Nuke that my company uses for some sites. There are other more focused options too. Might help to post a more detailed question with what you want to use the CMS for?
