Joomla For A Business Web Site?

We are planning on redoing our website and considering using Joomla CMS to build this site. I will be the only one adding content to the site. It will be a business related site so most of the content will be fairly static. It must look professional.
My key reason for using Joomla is so I have the ability to make updates and changes to the site often, so I don’t have to go to a web developer every time I need changes, minor modifications or content updates. Also it would be much cheaper than hiring a web developer.
I would like to hear thoughts from others that have built a professional looking website using Joomla.
