i want to develop a site and i want to use joomla. My site is all about a beach resort and i want to ask:
1. what component is the best for this site
2. what template i should use
3. what modules i need to this site
i need a module for
1. paypal or visa credit card
2. login form and registration form

Joomla can handle all this out-of-the-box with only one extension required - an extension for the paypal or credit card payments. There are several payment extensions available on the Joomla extensions site at http://extensions.joomla.org
You should also be able to use the default template and simply customise it by changing colours and adding your own logo image.

In Joomla, components are ways to extend Joomla to accomplish certain tasks, such as adding shopping carts, calendars, etc. So the question cannot be answered as asked.
2. what template i should use
Joomla comes with a default template and others can be found on the Web. I can tell you from personal experience that skinning Joomla is about a 7 on the difficulty scale, where 1 is easy and 10 difficult.

VirtueMart is the primary module for shopping carts and supports Paypal and most credit cards, including Visa.
2. login form and registration form
This already exists in the Joomla base install.
I would suggest picking up a copy of Joomla for Dummies at the local bookstore or Amazon.com.
Most developers likes to use Joomla because of its flexibility, which means you can make any type of websites with it. Your mind is the limit. My suggestion is that you should categorize everything first down to what specific content do you wish to showcase. Try to get a uniform structure of the content so workin on it would be easier.
