How To Remove The Default Menu Item In Joomla?

To be more clear, I want to basically REMOVE the default menu item.
and make my logo clicable to the default menu item….
so from left of the header to the right…I would have the following:
Logo - Tab 1 - Tab 2 - Tab 3 - etc…
where the Logo is linked to my index page and Tab 1 is my second menu item in the mainmenu, etc…
Please help!

    I understand this time. But the answer is essentially the same.
    Rename the main menu to something like “home menu” and unassign it from all module positions. Remove everything except the desired home page component (the Joomla! default being the one called “Front Page” which displays all the content with the Front Page attribute checked) from this menu module. Though not visible anywhere, the first item will still determine the index page component. (This original first menu is recognized by its id and is special regardless of name and where or whether it appears.)
    In your template where you display your logo, link it to your site index page (as suggested by another respondent previously).
    Create a new menu (called main menu, top menu, or whatever you wish) for Tab 1, 2, 3, etc and publish it in a position to the right of your logo in your template.
    Voila!
