How Do You Integrate An Html Site Into Joomla Without Starting From Scratch?

   you could always try this:
   1) backup your existing site - rename temporarily any index files to -index (anything but index.htm, index.php, etc)
   2) install joomla in your root folder
   3) create a new template to look like your old site - see resource below to help do this…
   4) as per the first anwser create categories and sections and add your new content from then on
   As for your old content since the new joomla site is styled like your old site you can keep all the original pages in place and simply link to them direct from your joomla site - obviously you cant edit them but it will save you lots of time having to duplicate them in joomla if you have 100’s of pages…

   Unfortunately, you will need to start your Joomla! site from scratch but you do not need to completely rewrite your site’s content.
   Once you have your Joomla! site set up, you need to create sections and categories to contain your content. Then from the administrator backend, you need to create new content items.
   Make sure you have turned off the WYSIWYG editor. Then just copy the source code of your HTML site, selecting all content between the tags.
   Paste this into your new content item, modify any internal links (taking care to make sure you have any images uploaded to Joomla!) and save.
   It’s a bit of work but if you have your HTML pages open in an editor it can be done quite quickly.
   Joomla stores all content within the database so this is the only simple way in which to get your content into the site.
