How Do I Remove The Template Footer Message From My Joomla Site?

August 1, 2009 under FAQ

For my site (www.loch.org.au/online) I wish to remove the message “Free Joomla Template designed by funky-visions.de” from the footer. I imagined it would have been easy to just remove it from the template.php file, however that file is encoded and my attempts to decode it have failed.
I have tried also removing it from the includes/footer.php file.
How can I get rid of it?
Cheers
Callum

If you cannot get in the index.php/template.php then you cannot change it. Anyways, why not give them proper credit?

You have to edit the index.php file located under:
/templates/ in most case, the copyright footer is hard coded
