Getting Started With Joomla?
February 19, 2010 under FAQ
Hi there,
I am looking to create a joomla website and have been looking for ages for a host that is going to help me get the site set up so that i can start adding content. Can anyone help me with how it works?
Thanks

You can check review of top ten web hosting service providers at website like http://aplis.net/ .
If you don’t have a host then I will advise using godaddy.com, ensure you get a linux plan what ever you do and ensure you have at least on mysql database on your host account.
Installation of joomla can be done in about 45 mins with their online ftp program and the database is easy to use.
You can get hosting anywhere almost - so many companies are offering it. 1and1.com and totalchoicehosting.com are good ones for this. But no one will actually install/configure Joomla for you. Either you need to or you need to find someone who knows how to. Their website has straightforward instructions on how to install it, and I suggest you create a database in your hosting’s control panel FIRST. That’s b/c during installation you need to specify a database with its name and password (which you’ll create in the CP), and Joomla will attempt to connect to it during this process. If you’re confused about creating a DB (usually it’s just hitting a button and giving it a name), contact your hosting company for help.
