    You’re not off to a good start. My best advice is delete it and move on. Joomla does not run on PC’s it needs to be installed on a Server. It’s also the hardest of the CMS programs to learn. If you don’t have a hosting service, the script is useless to you.

    Unzip the files and upload to your server via FTP or if you have shell access to your server, untar the files that way - it’s much quicker. Of course you’d have to download the package that ends in either .tar.gz or .tar.
    Once you do either of those, I believe you go to your URL and you’ll be prompted through some steps to install it. Be sure you already have a database for Joomla created in your control panel because the installation will ask for the DB name, username and password in order to connect to it. We use Joomla at work and it won Best PHP Open Source Content Management System two years in a row. We enjoy it because it’s very powerful and has a great community of support. It’s not the perfect solution for everyone, but it’s worth playing around with.
