Anyone Familiar With Removing Headings In Joomla?

February 1, 2010 under FAQ

I have removed the polls from my Joomla-based website, but the right side on my homepage still has a heading for “Polls.” I really want to remove this but can’t find such an option? I would greatly appreciate any help.

So if you’ve removed just the actual poll questions, you’ll need to do either one of two things: Disable the Polls module, or Remove polls from the template:
Disable Module: In the Joomla Admin, go to Modules | Site Modules. Find the “Polls” line and Unpublish it.
Remove from Template: In the Joomla Admin, go to the Modules | Site Modules. Find the “Polls” line and look to see what the “Position” is, for example, it is probably “right” by default. You may need to change this position, which it will then not show up on your page, or if you change the position to something that does show up on your page, you can remove it from the template by navigating to the template’s index.php file, finding the part where this module is loaded (< ?php mosLoadModules( 'right', -2); ?>) and remove it / adjust it.
